ABOUT ALLISON
Since the beginning of my fine art journey I have been revisiting places in the New Forest that I have a strong personal connection with. In these environments I have added and altered the spaces while being thoughtful not to cause harm.
My work often indirectly references a booked called Masquerade by Kit Williams. In real life, a golden necklace was hidden in the British countryside and the book offered clues in form of poems and illustrations. After many years the necklace was discovered. As a child I adored the idea of finding treasure and through my practice I have often looked at what I can leave in nature for someone to find.
I love the great outdoors and areas on the New Forest hold a deep personal meaning to me. When I use the forest or the beach in my practice I am always considered about the materials I ensure they do not have a negative impact on the environment.
My lino prints usually have a link to nature as do my ceramic items.
